I used to hope that i would have a chance to attend Chee Siang's company annual dinner. I had the chance eventually, but it was not so impressed, just a "normal" annual dinner which was the same as what i had been attending during my working life.
The annual dinner was held in Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC). It was the first time i was there. Huge highway, along the highway is accompanied by the trees and the government designed houses are elsewhere in Putrajaya. With the major helping by the road signs. We arrived PICC after 2 hours departing from house (we were first time there indeed to get lost).
There were about 200 tables in the convention center, with the glittering ballroom and stage, as well as a great eloquence emcee. The performances were started after the speech by the CEO and the President of Standard Chartered Bank. The performances were impressed but unfortunately the food was horrible. The food was not delicious neither hot.
The food was hosted by Hotel Equatorial, a 5 stars hotel. I couldn't believe that when i was asking for a mineral water, the attendant told me that the mineral water is only for VIP. I would have asked, how much does it cost for a mineral water? It is only served to the VIP?? A 5 star hotel treated VIP a mineral water as a best drinks. What a funny statement. Then, i ordered a glass of plain water, but it was not on my table even the last meal had been served.
How terrible were the services! We were refused to be given when we requested just a chili sos, dried cut chillis and even a teacup. They did not prepare any extra in the convention center. How tedious the truth was.
The event ended at 11:15pm. We were not lucky enough for the lucky drawing, but overally the banquet was good. Congratulations to the winner of the performance and dressing code, they indeed had a good night.
